Another hidden gem! This time near the University of the Philippines in Diliman. From Katipunan, just turn left on CP Garcia and you'll find it down the road. Look for this door and it opens to ... Gubat!

Warning: on a Sunday, there may be a line. I don't know about the other days. I went on a Sunday.
But it's all right you can watch these ladies bust out orders while you wait. And also, they will already take your order so that by the time that you were seated, your food arrives around the same time. You will have to pay at the cashier, before dining; not after you eat.

They are known for their Dinakdakan which is like Sisig so that's what we ordered. It comes with "adobo rice" which essentially is plain rice, but layered with some kind of adobo sauce, half a salted egg, and pako fern salad.

I also love how you will eat off of a banana leaf and with your hands. There's a washing station for your hands. And absolutely no utensils in sight.

For 2 pax we spent less the P800!! Two viands and rice, plus drinks.
I would totally come back! Maybe with my own utensils next time!
